Kingswood residents put their best feet forward for a good cause at the estate’s first Spring Fun Run and Walk, raising R4 300 for the People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA).
On Saturday, 10 October, Kingswood residents and friends gathered for a morning of fresh air, family fun and community spirit at the estate’s inaugural Spring Fun Run and Walk.
With families, children and four-legged companions joining the route, the event was about more than simply getting active and welcoming spring. It was an opportunity to come together, enjoy the outdoors and make a difference in the lives of animals in need.
Thanks to everyone who participated and supported the initiative, R4 300 was raised for the PDSA, contributing towards its important work in animal welfare.

After the run and walk, participants gathered to enjoy refreshments and share in the festive atmosphere. Biokineticist Anine van der Westhuizen sponsored water bottles to keep participants hydrated, while La Famiglia provided a delicious boerewors roll braai and Outeniqua Brew Company supplied refreshing beers.
Frontier Medix was on standby to provide medical assistance if needed, while Netstar and Garden Route Flowers added to the excitement with fantastic prizes.
There were plenty of smiles, laughter and memorable moments throughout the morning.
The Kingswood Homeowners Association extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part, as well as all the sponsors and supporters who helped make this first event such a success. Your generosity and enthusiasm helped turn a morning of fun into an opportunity to give back.
Making a difference for animals
The PDSA (SA) is a non-profit animal welfare organisation that receives no government or municipal funding and relies heavily on sponsors and donors to provide primary healthcare to animals whose owners cannot afford private veterinary care.
Its services include surgical procedures, sterilisations, vaccinations, treatment of common and zoonotic diseases, microchipping and regular sterilisation campaigns. Through its mobile clinics, the organisation reaches communities across the region, including areas between Mossel Bay, Riversdale, Herbertsdale and Sedgefield.
Every contribution helps support this important work, and Kingswood is proud to have played a part.
